Firstly it’s been great to see some new and returning faces to training recently. As usual we will meet you with smiles, professional advice and support along with encouragement and an inclusive attitude from all members. The current training at the club is outlined below. Remember that we cater for most abilities from novice to elite.

Monday swim – 8:00-9:00/9:30am – swim with coaching feedback and a focus on development of race pace and sustaining faster swimming . Last 30 mins shifts to some longer reps – ideal for building base fitness or longer distance racing focus.

Tuesday AM swim – 7:00-8:00am Progressive strength endurance training.

Tuesday PM Run – 6:45 from Botanic gardens front gate: 2nd warm up under the road bridge in arboretum behind botanic gardens at 6:55-7pm. Structured fartlek (mixed pace running) alongside the river and canal / University vet school. Scenic and a session where nobody gets left behind.

Tuesday PM Scotstoun swim – 8:30-9:30pm – training quality swim session.

Tuesday PM Allander swim – 9:00-10:00pm – week 1 of 20 – NEW FORMAT!! body position, relaxation and drag reduction technical work but with 30 mins of training thrown in for good measure!!!

Wednesday Bike – Georgetown CTT time trial – sign on from 6pm first rider off at 7. Suitable for all abilities and a v friendly / easy way to start moving cycling forwards.

Thursday PM Run – 6:45 from scotstoun Leisure Centre – shallow gradient KM reps. perfect for building strength, speed and improving your run performance.

Thursday PM Swim – Scotstoun 8:30-9:30pm. Mixed swim with some base aerobic work, open water simulation skills training and strength / speed work.

Sunday PM Allander swim – 7:30-8:30pm – week 1 of 20 – NEW FORMAT!! body position, relaxation and drag reduction technical work but with 30 mins of training thrown in for good measure!!!
