Launch of the 2017 FTC Time Trial League and Championships:
After a successful TT session last week the club is announcing the following TT league dates and Structure:
DATES:
26th July – CTT Georgetown League
2nd August – CTT Georgetown League
23rd August – CTT Georgetown League
6th September – Club TT CHAMPIONSHIP – Georgetown course.
LEAGUE STRUCTURE:
V simple – your best 3 times are added up and the league standings are based on the accumulative time.
COURSE:
We’ve decided to use the 11.2km Georgetown road course for all events to encourage participation. It’s a short ride or drive from Glasgow. No busy dual carriageways and it’s pretty much flat!!
AGES:
Juniors over 14 years old can ride as long as parents are happy with them riding solo on public roads. No gear restrictions in place
CTT:
we are also using the CTT Georgetown League for 3 of our events. this is a freindly, volunteer organised series taking place on many Wednesdays through the summer. The club is affiliated to this organisation and taking part couldn’t be simpler – registration is 6:15-7:00pm on the day of the event – turn up at the car park by Aulds bakery in Inchinnan industrial estate (PA4 9RZ) and sign onto the start sheet with “Fusion Triathlon Club” as your club, Pay £3, pin your number on your back and then ride at allocated time!!! I’ll be there for the first one at least for anyone unsure. First rider starts at 7:15 and you start in sign on order so if want an early start be there at 6:15 to register early. One important point – do not ride on the Georgetown Road for warm up – use other roads towards Bishopton or in Inchinnan Industrial Estate for warm up. There is a facebook page for this: https://www.facebook.com/GeorgetownLeague/
For the Champs on 6th September we will need ~4 helpers to sort our own sign on, starters and timekeepers. Please let us know if you can help out for an hour / 90 mins on this date. Start time for first rider 7:30pm. Sign on 6:30-6:45
Last week we had 15 folk at short notice for a wee informal session – no reason why we can’t but 20+ folk at these events. TT is you against the clock – not others so challenge yourself and push your cycling forwards.
