Welcome to Fusion’s October round up.  We have the details of the upcoming AGM for you to get in the diary, a couple of rather tasty race reports with an invite for you to come to IM Italy and an introduction to the Fusion Youtube Channel.  Step away from the turbo for just a sec and have a wee read.

Calling ALL MEMBERS !!!

Fusions yearly AGM is scheduled to take place on Sunday 1st December – and you’re all invited.

This is where you can hear back from the club committee how the year has gone with a round up from the club chairperson, and ask of us whatever you wish – it’s a opportunity to be directly involved in the club’s future and we encourage everyone to be there if you can.  And there’s cake.

So please save the date above and we’ll communicate out closer to the date the time and location of the cake AGM.

We have two race reports for you this month – the amazing duo of Helen and Anne Marie and then Euan Wright in IM Barcelona !!

As a result of Euan’s report and his plan to enter IM Italy in 2020 about 10 other Fusion members have signed up so far.  IM Italy has a full IM, a 70.3 and an Olympic distance event so if you’re interested in taking part speak to one of the coaches or post in the members group and they tell you how you can get involved !!  This promises to be a bit of a special one for the club !!

This month sees the release of the first of a number of short films on our newly created Fusion Triathlon Youtube channel.  We’ve started with a little something on our cycling activities, have in production something similar on the run sessions and have other plans on adding shorter weekly snippets on social media and possibly creating a monthly introduction to the upcoming training block amongst some other ideas.

We are sure there’s got to be some Youtube stars amongst our members so if you’re interested in taking part, creating or have some fabulous ideas on a video you’d like to see Fusion make then pass your ideas across to info@fusiontriathlonclub.co.uk and get involved !!

In the meantime here’s something to remind you of those sweet summer days and a member time lapse video showing an interesting run commute.

Speaking of cycling !!! Wednesday PM turbo is picking up some speed.  8:00-9:30pm, £4 at The Whiteinch Centre. This is the start of indoor riding training – the programme that has seen so much progress for so many!!  You’ll need your own bike and turbo and a mat or old towel to protect the floor.

We will be working on pedalling technique, riding position , aerobic development and some small hard elements to improve power production.  So time to get that turbo out, dusted off and get along for a wee pedal.

FULL LANES with regulars missing. Monday swims are rammed currently, we can only offer a place on a first-come-first-served basis.

Other mid week swims have a little more space for better chance of your spot. Try a new session…..Spaces currently more available Tues am, Tues pm and Thurs pm.  Check out the website to confirm available training sessions.

Kit shop is open!!!! Go have a browse, shop will close Nov 8th to ensure Christmas delivery.  Get in there before the kit shop closes !!

There’s casual gear, race suits and a bunch of training kit for running and cycling.  We think you’d look really cool in a Fusion hoody eating your turkey.

Christmas is coming which means another excuse to eat and drink as much as you like – and there are now 2 turbo sessions a week to burn off any excess calories so really it’s a win win situation!

So on Friday 29th November keep the evening free, book babysitters and come along to the Senior Fusion Christmas party of the year.  There aren’t that many opportunities we can all get together as a club out of sports kit so would be good to get as many there as possible.

It will be at the Ubiquitous Chip Brasserie and the cost for a 3 course festive meal with wine is £35 – the meal will start at 2030 but we will arrange a ‘pre’ before most likely on Ashton Lane too and a ‘post’ will inevitably happen. Sign up was for a few weeks ago but if you’re interested have a look at the sign up via the facebook link here or contact Jo Patterson directly !!

Partners are also welcome !!
