Welcome to July’s round up.  We are mid season now with a few things to get you up to speed on – starting with Fusion’s big weekend of sport, a bunch of new member content on the site from race reports to Fusion GB AG profiles and loads more.  Grab a coffee and have a read.

The weekend of the 13th / 14th July provided sport over load for sports fans – with Men’s Wimbledon Single finals, the netball World Cup matches, Cricket’s World Cup and the F1 GP at Silverstone.  Here at Fusion we had own varied and wonderful 13th / 14th July weekend

  • Saturday saw a relay team from Fusion smash the mixed team relay national champs and the conduct themselves with dignity when denied the title due to officiating issues.
  • There was massive inspiration from Fergus Maclean swimming like a Fergus shaped dolphin 36k from one end of Loch Lomond to the other in just over 9hrs 20 mins.  That’s 353 * 100m swimming at 1m 34secs per 100m pace.  Get flipper an ice cream.
  • Sunday saw a Fusion legend Kate Rowley shave 30 mins off fasted standard distance & another Fusion Legend Steve Ellison getting faster and faster and faster
  • New member Gillian Black managed to get a top 10 National champs finish in her first triathlon.

Other stand out results from this month come from Shuan Williamson and Gillian (more!!) – Shaun came 1st youth and 2nd overall at the wee beastie Loch Lomond & Gillian 2nd at National aquathlon Champs – EPIC!!!!

There’s always something good happening in Fusion – why don’t you tell us about it on our facebook page or by letting our comms team know info@fusiontriathlonclub.co.uk – we’d love to shout about our successes, be it race wins or getting to the start of that target race, personal training goals & adventures or just whatever makes your world rock – you’d be surprised how much can inspire others to their own personal greatness.

We have lots of new content on the website this month, starting with member reports / rides….

A new feature on the site just released are a number of Fusion members who compete at AG level telling us more about them.  Have a look on our homepage for more details !!

Yoga !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As a follow up to our previous request to tell us when it would suit best to run the Fusion yoga sessions …. please keep your ears peeled on the club social media and your email inbox for details of the new session times – kicking off mid August between now and then we’ll be bringing you an article by our Yoga Jedi Master on the benefits if can give you in life, love and triathlon and the booking sign up to reserve your spot.  As ever members need to use these sessions otherwise they will loose them !!

This years Tour de France is over and the Fusion virtual TDF race is finished!! Yann even missed his Sunday night swim for it, but Mr T holds off all late challenges to take the title!!  A late bid from Iain K with 4 stage wins on the trot and password issues, he could have been Mr Ts Rocky moment.  JD with password issues and less than half a team mean business next time !

Thanks all for taking part.  Final League rankings Fusion TDF
