Dear members,

We find ourselves in unprecedented times and with such a huge amount of uncertainty surrounding coronavirus; we are all dealing with an ever-changing situation.  Since yesterday’s update, the committee have had many discussions regarding the Covid-19 pandemic and the continued delivery of club training sessions

Although we have no official update from our sports governing body, the committee has taken our lead from other bodies from different outdoor sporting areas, and given the need to reduce social contact have taken the difficult decision to suspend all formal club sessions with immediate effect and until further notice.  We will continue to keep an eye on the situation and will review this decision on a weekly basis, especially if/when more clarity is provided on recommendations for social contact

We have always talked about the Fusion family and as such it is important to us that we look after our family of members and coaches.  The club and the sport that we do form a huge part of our lives and part of our daily and weekly routines and I am acutely aware of how much of a hole there will be for us over this period.   It is important that we continue to be as physically active as we can be during this time and we would encourage you to get out and do stuff when you can.  This will ensure that we maintain both our physical health but also and perhaps more importantly our mental health.  Get out and about, continue to train in small groups

Your coaches and your committee are looking at ways to keep us all in touch and involved and to ensure that even if in isolation nobody feels isolated.  So I urge you to keep in touch with us on our social media channels, get involved in the stuff that we will be getting up and running over the rest of this week and beyond.  Meet your faster/slower pals for a run or a ride- social distance no problem J.  Some session plans can be made available to current members on request.

We will be sure to keep you informed of any changes to the current situation.  Please be assured that decisions, as always, have been taken with the very best of intentions regarding your safety and good health.

Please take care and stay well

Susan Lynch
