So this email is regarding serious team recruitment – no slackers allowed, training begins NOW. Only joking (somewhat!). As some of you have already heard and hopefully saved the date in your diary we are hoping to get one or two Fusion Dragonboat teams at the Clydebuilt Festival on Sunday 22nd September. No experience required, just 100% dedication!

The aim is to battle it out to become the Dragon Boat Racing Champions and win the coveted Dragon Trophy!!

The first ever Dragon Boat Race on the River Clyde will take place on day two of the Clydebuilt Festival (Sunday 22/9/19) between 10am and 5pm. Teams are made up of 10-14 paddlers and a drummer (squads of 11 – 15 racers) Each team will race a minimum of three times, with the slowest time disregarded (practice makes perfect after all!) and the fastest times will go through to the semi-finals and then the Grand Finale to battle it out to become the overall champions!

With the weather like it is right now and obviously going to continue for another month it looks to be a cracking day out. As we need to enter I need to hear back ideally by Wednesday 28th August (that only gives you a couple of days!). I will then propose teams and the team naming competition can begin!

I think the cost will be around £35 per person max however I’m looking to get this reduced – either way it’s cheaper than the majority of triathlons we enter!

Each boat does need a drummer – I’m happy to do so if no one else is keen but let me know when you reply what your preferred team role is!

I think unfortunately there is an age limit of 16 (I am however waiting to hear back to see if this is right) but either way there will be lots happening and would be great to see everyone there. Entry to the festival itself is free.
