The club wishes everyone a happy new year and we look forward to seeing everyone back for the usual busy Jan period !!

Welcome to the Fusion December newsletter – with the end of the year we’ve decided to cover off a broader review of what we got up too, we also have a round up of the first block in 2020 & some updates to fees that will apply from the first session of the year.

Over at https://fusiontriathlonclub.com towers we’ve been peering back at the thousands of people who come and look at our wonderful club – many of our members never really see this element and have no idea the level of interest from around the world in our fabulous Glasgow based fun factory.  So here’s a sneak peek.  In 2019 we had a total of 18,254 visitors from around the globe reading about who we are and what our members get up to through our blog page.  The shaded areas below represent the countries these people all come from.  So whether you are a new / long term member or someone who has written an article for the club, it really is a small world out there and lots of it are interested in you !

United Kingdom, United States, Spain, Canada, France, Germany, China, Australia, Ireland, Bahamas, European Union, Jersey, India, Netherlands, Luxembourg, Italy, Thailand, Portugal, Barbados, New Zealand, Brazil, Poland, Norway, Trinidad & Tobago, Philippines, United Arab Emirates, Romania, Greece, Singapore, Croatia, Denmark, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Hong Kong, SAR, China, Egypt, Switzerland, Morocco, Cyprus, South Africa, Colombia, Japan, Sweden, Malawi, Israel, Finland, Slovakia, Austria, Bahrain, Chile, Costa Rica, Malaysia, Iceland, Ukraine, Estonia, Russia, Taiwan,  Guernsey, Slovenia, Nigeria, Bulgaria, Latvia, Montenegro, Indonesia, Kenya, Peru, Mexico, Kuwait, Kazakhstan, Malta, Gibraltar, Qatar, Argentina, South Korea, Bangladesh, Belgium.

The most popular part of our site is unsurprisingly the blog area where we list and share all of our member content, newsletters and announcements from.  As a little reminder about how amazing the people of this club are we’ve listed the top ten member content as viewed last year – there’s certainly some beauties in there.  Some great reading as we plan for the year ahead !

This year has also seen the start of some video creation activities – generated from some go pro / drone footage captured during the summer.  These have proved very popular and are a good medium for showing people what it’s like coming along to a fusion training session and what it means to be part of the Fusion family.  We intend to get back out there this year when it gets a bit nicer and grab some more.  If anyone’s interested in helping out with this, or has a good idea for a video then we’d love to hear about it, lets get some member videos up there !

Moving onto 2020 we can’t wait to get going.  As a reminder to the options open to you please check out our training page below which shows the weekly sessions available for members

  •  Tuesday – main sets based at Park Circus for strength work on stairs and fast 400’s.
  •  Thursday  main set Hill sprints on Hallydown drive and Fast KM’s with lots of rest on the Anniesland road loop.

So lots of options for you to get out and about in Jan and get rid of those post Christmas blues !!

At the AGM this year one topic of discussion we focused on was the cost of Fusion sessions.  The price of attending fusion sessions has largely remained as is since 2009 – we’ve left this as long as possible but now with facilities / insurance / coaching fees adding up we’ve taken the decision to shift our sessions fees to compare with other similar local / national triathlon clubs.  It’s not an easy decision to make but we feel it places the club in a better position for the next 5 – 10 years.  To mitigate this change for some of the families / high frequency service users we shall be implementing a loyalty scheme for those fitness maniacs – so stay tuned for further information on this.

So from Monday 6th Jan session fees shall be:

  • Monday swim – £5 for 60 mins / £6 for 90 mins
  • Other swims – £5
  • Runs – £3
Lets get moving into 2020 with a smile !
